Here's how to hit it straight when the hole looks narrow from the tee.

Stand behind your ball and pick out a landing area, then imagine a direct line from that spot to your ball.
As you address the ball focus on a spot along that line a few feet in front of you.
Just before your backswing take a last look at your landing area.
Take a confident swing and forget about the visual distractions any nasty designer has put in your way.
